Why won't she let me decide?

I'm a field hockey player. I absolutely love playing on the field, but I'm only okay at it. Everybody tells me that I'm such an amazing goalie, but I really hate playing it. I told my mom that I dont want to play goal anymore and she basically told me I'm not going to quit. Did I make the right decision?
