What is a good hotel in Vegas for a young adult?

I'm 24 and it's my frist time going, and I'm looking to go at the end of August. I've asked coworkers but they're older so their scene and my scene clash. What is a good FUN "happening" place for me to stay......other than the Hard Rock or Palms? Im looking to party (MGM, has the Wet Republic Pool Party), but want to be close to everything, & thats all the way at the end of the strip. Ive been getting a lot of people telling me to go to Mandalay Bay, that there are a lot of people my age there & it seems fun..but again, its at the end. I dont really mind being all the way at the end, but is it worth it? Is it really that much fun? Has anyone been there? ...someone also told me Flamingo? Its not expensive, its nice, and its close to everything, but there's no good clubs going on there....HELP ASAPP, ive got about another week or two to book this, and Im really torn.
