My daughter didn't get an award at Graduation that she believes she should have, what recourse does she have?

There were academic rewards given at high school graduation. Each award was given for the Highest Academic Achievement in each subject. My daughter had all A's in this subject, and knows that the recipient of the award had at a grade below and A two years because she had to take the final exam twice, and my daughter never did (it is a small private school)...you are only exempt from the finals if you get all A's. My daughter absolutely did not get along with the teacher...she disliked the teacher and the teacher disliked her...it's a pretty well known fact, but the award was not for anything other than "Academic Achievement"... What would you do?
