Where can you learn field hockey?
Sorry i don't live in you area but I was in a similar situation. I emailed the coach and she showed me camps and leagues i could sign up for to help me get ready. If you can't do that then go get a stick, the sales staff should help you with sizing but it should come up to your hip bone. Then go on Youtube to find drills you can do at home or to learn about the rules of the game. Ball control is really important so practice dribbling and do pulls. Also work on strong passing and your drives, again go on youtube for demonstrations. Conditioning is also a big aspect, so make sure you are running everyday. Being in shape will help your chances of making the team. Your coach can teach you how to play but not how to run faster. Also if you know anyone who has played or is going to try out try and get together to practice or they can teach you more about the sport. I hope this helped, I hope you make the team
