Serving minors at gas station-quickie store?

What recourse does an employee have that was fired and arrested for serving a minor, that was later dismissed in court due to the lack of training on the employers part?. The judge said said since she wasn't trained to recognize the signs of a fake id it was the employers fault. They have called her about coming back to work but maybe not for another week. She is a single mom with an infant just needing to work.
